Congratulations to the 2026 Honorees!

Each year, AGU celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to the Earth and space sciences. Today, we are proud to announce the recipients of AGU’s 2026 Union Medals, Awards and Prizes; Fellows; and Section Awards and Lectures.

AGU recognizes individuals and teams for their outstanding accomplishments in research, education, science communication and outreach. These recipients have transformed our understanding of the world, impacted our everyday lives, improved our communities and contributed to solutions for a sustainable future. AGU President Brandon Jones and the members of the Honors and Recognition Committee extend their warmest congratulations to this year’s honorees.

Honorees will be celebrated at AGU26 in San Francisco, CA, this December. The 2026 honorees embody this year’s meeting theme, “Where Science Connects,” with their groundbreaking contributions, which have profoundly impacted our scientific community and will continue to influence generations to come.
