A complete nomination package consists of the following:
A nomination letter containing the nominator’s name, title, institution, and contact information. The letter should include details about the nominee’s significant contributions to the field of seismology. Letterhead is preferred.
The nominee’s curriculum vitae, that includes the candidate’s name, address, email, history of employment, degrees, research experience, honors, memberships and service to the community (committee work, advisory boards, etc.).
At least one but no more than three letters of support (separate from the nomination letter) with the supporter’s name, title, institution and contact information. Letterhead is preferred.
At least one but no more than three copies of the nominee’s published or preprint manuscripts, which illustrate the nominee’s quality of work.
2026 Review Timeline
- 5 January: Submission period opens
- 13 March: Submission period closes
- 1 April -13 May: Selection committees review nomination packages
- 18 May: Recommendation reports due to staff
- 12 June: Section President Approval of Recommendation Reports Due
- TBD September: 2026 Section award and lecture recipients announced
