Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee
Committee charge
The committee is charged with facilitating the actions AGU staff and members can take towards achieving inclusive science excellence in STEM. It will review and advise on inclusive science-related plans, education, and measurements across all AGU programs, consistent with the AGU Strategic Goal of promoting and exemplifying an inclusive science culture.
The committee should be knowledgeable of diversity and inclusion in organizational and leadership practices and should represent a broad cross-section of AGU’s members. It is to be globally informed, aware, and sensitive in its approach. Committee members serve as internal and external ambassadors for diversity and inclusion at AGU. As ambassadors, Committee members are to uphold and exemplify AGU values—helping to educate, cultivate, and promote a culture that embraces diversity, belonging, and respect in the advancement of Earth and space sciences, thereby helping AGU to become a model organization for inclusive science excellence practices.
