Qiuzhen Yin's research focuses on understanding the mechanisms driving climate variability from millennial to orbital timescales, with particular interests in glacial–interglacial and abrupt climate changes. She uses Earth system models to investigate past climate dynamics, including paleo-monsoon dynamics, the astronomical theory of paleoclimates, and climate–ice sheet–carbon cycle interactions.
