Dr. Binayak Mohanty is a Regents Professor & COALS Chair in Hydrologic Engineering and Sciences at Texas A&M University. Dr. Mohanty has a unique role in modern hydrology and flow through porous media with foundational contributions on physics of scaling. He is an international leader in using satellite remote sensing as a tool to study soil moisture, soil hydraulics, evapotranspiration, and preferential flow processes, parameterization, and fusion at different space and time scales.
