Srija Chakraborty is a Scientist at USRA and a NASA Black Marble Science Team member. She specializes in applied machine learning for remote sensing focusing on NASA’s Black Marble Product, with applications in near-real time disaster mitigation and long-term studies monitoring global environmental change. She serves on the NASA Science Mission Directorate AI/ML working group since 2020. Prior to joining USRA, she was a NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellow at NASA GSFC. She received a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Arizona State University in 2019. Her research interests lie at the intersection of ML and remote sensing, and ethical AI.
