Dr. Elizabeth S. Cochran is an observational seismologist at the U.S. Geological Survey. She specializes in earthquake early warning, induced seismicity, and fault slip processes, and has led seismic deployments for major U.S. earthquakes. A recipient of the 2010 Presidential Early Career Award for a novel crowd-sourced seismic network, she has also served in leadership roles at the USGS, including Acting Director of the Earthquake Science Center and Chief Scientist for ShakeAlert.
