My goal is to understand the ocean circulation in a changing climate. My research focuses on the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) and its variability, response to meltwater and increasing CO2 concentrations, its impacts on the surface climate, and its behavior as a tipping element. To this end, I combine climate models of various complexity, from simple conceptual models to state-of-the-art global climate models.
