#AGU21 is offering some of the session formats listed here to foster and encourage discussion across the meeting.

Abstract submissions opened in mid-June. The abstract submission deadline was Wednesday, 4 August, 23:59 EDT.

There can be no exceptions to this deadline.

Yes, there will be an additional abstract fee. The abstract fee is separate from the AGU membership or meeting registration fee.

All authors, including invited authors and students, are required to pay the abstract fee unless they are in low/middle-income countries.

AGU Fall Meeting 2021 will be both in-person and online so authors and attendees can customize their participation. Some may choose to be 100% in-person or online while others may choose to do a mix of both.

Hybrid oral and poster discussion sessions can have a mix of online and in-person presentations. eLightning sessions are either in-person or online; presenters who are scheduled in an in-person eLightning session but decide to attend online should plan to record an audio tour of their digital poster to be played during the live session. Additional guidance will be provided in the coming weeks.

AGU expects only fully vaccinated people will attend #AGU21 in person in New Orleans. If you are not fully vaccinated (two weeks after the last required shot), please plan to attend online.

If your abstract has been accepted for presentation at the meeting, you are asked to indicate if you will attend the meeting in person or if you will attend online as soon as possible.
