Josefino Comiso was a Senior Scientist at the Earth Sciences Division of the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) until 2017 when he retired and became Emeritus Scientist. He received his Ph. D. in physics from UCLA and held a post-doctoral position at the University of Virginia before joining NASA/GSFC. He was a recipient of many awards including the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal and was author or co-author of 8 books, 25 book chapters and more than 150 highly cited ISI publications.
