My research interests currently focus on extreme value theory applied to geophysical phenomena, e.g. extreme rainfall, floods, droughts, hurricanes, and how these extreme phenomena may change under new climates. The coupled eco-morphodynamic processes regulating transitional coastal areas, and how they may change in the future, are also a long-term focus for my field, remote sensing, and modelling work. I have learned a lot from working in institutions between Italy (Padova) and the US (Duke).
