Tutorial Talks at Fall Meeting

Understanding a new or different field of study or a new issue or challenge provides an opportunity not only for learning: it can also spark new ideas, generate a new way to approach a problem, or even lead to unexpected collaborations. The new Tutorial Talks, introduced for AGU Fall Meeting 2018, were inspired by the launch of AGU’s Centennial.

A tutorial breaks down complex topics down, provides an expert review and synthesis of results from researchers and articulates the essential points in an applied and understandable manner. AGU’s Tutorial Talks are designed to have a broad appeal to participants seeking an overview and understanding of a given topic, and are not primarily a presentation of the proposer’s own work.

Talks are grouped into dedicated 30-minute concurrent sessions and consist of a 25-minute presentation with time for questions.
