How do I register online for Fall Meeting?
The online registration tool is open. To access the registration site, all attendees must create an AGU account.

What does my registration fee include?
Your registration fee includes access to oral sessions with discussions, electronic posters, eLightning presentations, online exhibit hall, keynote and innovative plenaries, informal networking, education and career development opportunities as well as meetings within meetings.

All attendees, including presenters and conveners, must register for Fall Meeting in order to gain access to the virtual platform.

How do I purchase tickets to special events?
Tickets will be available for purchase in the online registration portal soon. Tickets for special events must be purchased online by 16 November.

May I bring a guest?
Guest passes will not be available for Fall Meeting 2020. All attendees will be required to register.

What cooperating societies qualify for the member rate during registration?
Members of the following cooperating societies can receive the member rate during registration. Please be sure to have access to your membership credentials during the registration process. You will be prompted to input that information to receive the discounted rate.

 

What are the eligibility requirements to receive the Tier 1 and Tier 2 reduced registration rates?

Individuals who currently reside in developing countries are eligible to attend at no cost. These countries are defined by the World Bank as low income (Tier 1) and lower-middle income (Tier 2).

 

What is the early bird rate?

Reduced registration rates are extended to all AGU members who register for the meeting prior to the early bird deadline of 30 October 2020.

 

Will the early bird registration rate be extended for U.S. federal government employees who have not received approval to attend before the October 30th deadline?

The early bird rates will be extended throughout the Fall Meeting for U.S. federal government employees ONLY. Valid credentials will be required.

If you are not able to attend and do not want to withdraw your presentation, please encourage a co-author to present on your behalf. Presenter changes can be submitted to the scientific program team.

 

How do I become an AGU member?

How do I qualify for AGU member rates?

To qualify for AGU member rates, you must have joined AGU or renewed your membership for 2020 by 30 October 2020. This does not apply to Indigenous member students and faculty enrolled in or working for North American tribal and territorial colleges and universities. 

 

How are cancellations processed for the virtual meeting?

Written notifications must be emailed to [email protected]. Registration cancellations received by 7 November 2020 will receive a complete refund. No refunds will be issued for cancelled registrations or ticketed events after 7 November 2020.

 

Substitution Policy

Substitutions will not be allowed for the Fall Meeting 2020.

Can high school students attend the Fall Meeting 2020?

High school students will be allowed to register for the virtual meeting. Each parent/legal guardian will be required to sign a virtual consent form granting permission for their child to participate in the virtual meeting. These registrants will also be required to provide a scanned copy of their student identification card. These documents will need to be uploaded in the registration portal. A parent/or teacher must accompany the child(ren)/ward(s) at all times during their participation in the Online Meeting.

 

How do I request a registration receipt after I have completed the registration process?

Payment receipts for registration can be requested by emailing the AGU Registration Center

 

How do I request a registration receipt for previous Fall Meetings?

Payment receipts for previous meetings can be requested by emailing the AGU Meetings Team.

 

Will AGU accept checks and wire transfer payments for the Fall Meeting 2020 registration? 

AGU will accept checks and wire transfer payments. Check payments and wire transfers must be submitted to the address below by 16 November 2020 to complete your registration.

Does AGU accept purchase orders?

AGU does not accept purchase orders for registration payment.

 

How can I retrieve an invitation letter for the meeting?

A letter of invitation can be downloaded here.

 

How can I retrieve a letter of attendance for attending the meeting?

A letter of attendance can be obtained by emailing the AGU Meetings Team.

 

Will I be able to access the online program with a balance due on my account?

Individuals with a balance due will not have access to the online program. All transactions must be complete before uploading your presentation and/or participating in Fall Meeting sessions and events.
