Recognizing Outstanding Contributions Toward the Science and Communication of Global Environmental Change
The Stephen Schneider Lecture is presented annually and recognizes outstanding scientific accomplishments in global environmental change and in communicating scientific results to the public. The lecture honors the life and work of climatologist Stephen Schneider, an extremely influential scientist who received extensive recognition for his research, policy and outreach efforts related to climate change.

About the Global Environmental Change Section
Global Environmental Change addresses large-scale chemical, biological, geological, and physical perturbations of the Earth’s surface, ocean, land surface, and hydrologic cycle with special attention to time scales of decades to centuries, to human-caused perturbations and their impacts on society.
