Support the work of the Biogeosciences Section Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee

Committee Charge

The Biogeosciences DEI committee was formed in 2021 with the purpose to enhance, support, and celebrate diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and justice in the Section, AGU, and STEM more generally.

To date, some of the committee accomplishments include founding a B-DEI Travel Grant Award program and administering $4,000 to support phenomenal scientists from diverse backgrounds across the world to attend the Fall Meeting. We have also developed a new program GEOspire that connects scientists to K-12 teachers within AGU’s Fall Meeting host city. Within GEOspire, AGU members engage with local classrooms and enable participants to engage with active research by attending the AGU Fall Meeting with their science partner.

Please consider supporting the committee to expand the reach of our programs and support community-building activities including our Fall Meeting Mixer!
